Grimveld game rules
Version 2026-10-11 · in force from 11 October 2026
These rules are part of the Grimveld Terms of Service (sections 2 and 6). The English version is binding.
1. PvP in plain words
- Anyone at level 7 or above can attack anyone else outside protection zones and Rookgaard. All of Rookgaard is a no-PvP zone.
- Traps catch monsters only. A player can step on an open trap without harm.
- Secure mode (on by default in the client) stops you from targeting, or using a targeted rune on, players who have no skull. It does not stop area spells, area runes or fields: they hurt everyone in the area, party members included.
- Party members and guild mates can attack each other, even in secure mode, and doing so gives no skull and no frag.
- Attacking an unmarked player gives you a white skull and bars you from protection zones until a minute after your last attack; killing one keeps both for 15 minutes. After any fight, monsters included, you can't log out for a minute.
- Players who attacked you show a yellow skull to you only; party members show a green skull.
- An unjustified kill counts against you. 3 in 4 hours, 5 in 7 days or 10 in 30 days give a red skull for a day; double those give a black skull for 3 days. A red or black skull loses everything on death. A black skull can't attack unmarked players and comes back from death with 40 hit points and no mana.
- A player who killed you unjustly shows an orange skull to you for 7 days; you can take revenge without penalty.
- Killing players gives no experience.
- There are 5 blessings, bought from NPCs for 10,000 gold each. Twist of Fate isn't available, and new characters get no free blessings.
2. Bots and helpers
Bots are not allowed.
- Our client only, unmodified. No other program may read or change the game or the client: no auto-healers, auto-haste, alarms, light hacks or cavebots. A keyboard or mouse macro that repeats an action or chains several counts as a bot: one key press, one action.
- Several characters at once are allowed while you play each of them yourself. A character that follows another and heals, attacks or loots on its own is a bot.
- Away from the keyboard, you may stand idle in a protection zone. Anything that keeps acting while you're away, such as hunting, making runes or looting, is botting.
Penalties count per account:
- The server only flags suspected bots. A game master reviews every flag and decides; nothing is banned automatically.
- First offence: 7-day ban. Second: 30-day ban. Third: permanent ban.
- A permanent ban on an account that has bought anything is always checked by two people. Send an appeal to support@grimveld.com within 30 days of our message; we answer within 14 days (Terms of Service, section 7).
- A ban for botting earns no refund (Terms of Service, section 8).
