House auctions: bid for a house on the website
Houses are now won at auction. Every house without an owner is listed on the new Houses page. Pick a character, enter the most you would pay, and the price rises only as far as other bids push it; nobody sees your maximum. The lowest bid is 1,000 gold per square metre of the house. Your maximum plus one month's rent is held from your bank, and if someone outbids you, all of it goes back at once.
Bidding needs Premium and a character that has left Rookgaard, and each character can own one house. An auction ends at the 7th server save (06:00) after its first bid, and the winner moves in with the first month's rent paid. Owners can move out or sell their house to another player, and the change happens at the next server save. A house can no longer be bought at its door.
