Item rarity
Equipment dropped by monsters can be rare, epic or legendary, with additional bonuses. Find the chances, limits and values below, taken from the server data.
Which items can have bonuses
Weapons, armour, helmets, legs, boots and shields that monsters drop can roll a rarity. Rings, amulets, ammunition, NPC wares and quest rewards never do.
Rare items have 1 bonus, epic items 2 and legendary items 3. Each bonus is a different type, drawn from the pool for that equipment slot.
Rarity items follow the normal 8.0 death and trade rules: they drop on death like any other item and can be traded. NPCs don't buy them.
How to recognise rarity
Items have a coloured outline: blue for rare, purple for epic and gold for legendary. It appears on the ground, in backpacks and in the equipment window.
You see a legendary magic plate armor. Legendary: +3 armor, +75 hit points, 4% fire protection.

Rare drop chances
Items are divided into classes 1 to 3, based on their highest drop chance from 8.0 monsters in the 2007 data. The class sets the chances and maximum rarity: rare for class 1, epic for class 2 and legendary for class 3.
